The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

There is NOTHING. Worse. Than making cold calls from the yellow pages for work.

I would take the root canal option over this.

And why is everything going wrong this week. Everything is breaking, falling over, internet is failing, no cable, and being...LYING BASTARDS!!!

Actually, I'm fine. I'm healthy and feeling good so that is really the most important thing.

Ok now, because I said I would spread the word: :iconxixaofxylem: is a newly formed group because the last account couldn't (or wouldn't) be converted. Sad that they have to start all over. So if you were a member before, now you have to go rejoin.

For what it's work, the internet is a horrid place all around and there's never anything good on TV. Except on Thursdays, when Bones is on! ...but even that's starting to wear thin. Been kind of iffy since Season 5 at least... :(

Ya it's a long story. Basically, everyone will lie to your face over and over to avoid giving you bad news. So then you got to figure it out for yourself but then you have the added bonus of being lied to at the same time when you do figure it out.
